Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has declared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) majority in Parliament.
This announcement by the speaker follows a formal letter by the Independent Candidate for the Fomena Constituency, Andrew Asiamah Amoako,announcing his decision to do business with the NPP in Parliament.
“What we have now, you have the New Patriotic Party wing or caucus in Parliament together with the independent Member of Parliament from Fomena, and they now constitute the Majority group,” Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin said on the floor of Parliament today, Friday, January 15th, 2021.
The pronouncement by the Speaker settles the unending “who forms majority” debate between the two political parties.
