The Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama, has announced that the markets in the Ashanti Region will be disinfected in accordance with the ongoing market disinfection exercise in the country.
Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development in collaboration with Zoomlion on Monday 23rd March 2020 begun a nationwide disinfection exercise of the various market Accra.
The exercise forms part of government’s laid down measures to fight the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
Some of the market centers which were disinfected on Monday include Mallam Attah Market, Nima market, Tiptoe lane and Alajo market.
In all, Over 137 markets are set to be disinfected.
