We'll provide free sanitary pads for girls-Prof. Opoku-Agyemang

The Vice Presidential Candidate of NDC, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has stated that the NDC will provide sanitary pads for girls when it comes into power.

She noticed that due to poverty, some girls are unable to attend school because they do not have access to sanitary pads whiles menstruating.

She was of the belief that staying home because lack of sanitary pads was unfair and therefore will provide girls with sanitary pads so that they can be available at school during the time of the month.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also stated that the NDC will extend maternity leave from three to four months and offer seven days of paternity leave to fathers so that mothers can have enough time for their babies before going back to work.

She said the NDC will establish day care centres and creches at work places so that mothers can be able to attend to their babies when needed.

She made the promise at the launch of the ‘ People’s Manifesto’ of the NDC.
