We’ll drag Charlotte Osei to Special Prosecutor – EC petitioners

Some staff of the Electoral Commission who petitioned the presidency to investigate their Chairperson over some procurement breaches, have vowed to drag the latter to the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

Madam Osei was removed from office recently following  recommendations by a committee chaired by the Chief   Justice to probe the commissioner and two other deputies for breaching some procurement procedures.

However, addressing the press Monday, spokesperson for the petitioners, Rabiu Sulemana, welcomed the removal of their boss and that next step is to push for her prosecution.
.
“The public procurement act 2003, act 663 is very clear on this [and’] in this regard, we are making preparations to submit these complaints to the office of the Special Prosecutor for investigations and possible prosecution of Mrs. Charlotte Osei.

“We shall leave no stone unturned in our quest to ensure that she faces the full effects of the law for which she gleefully breached with wanton recklessness,” he said.

“We are also prepared to submit to the special prosecutor complaints and evidence of her dealings with other companies and individuals which we deemed to amount to abuse of office, breach of trust and conflicts of interest,” Mr. Sulemana added.
