We have not snubbed Parliament -EC

The Electoral Commission (EC) has debunked claims in certain quarters that, it has snubbed parliament over the latter’s invitation for it(EC) to present the roadmap for a peaceful and successful conduct of the December 7 election.

In a statement released last night,
The Commission said it was “greatly surprised by this turn of events as notice of the said meeting was sent after office hours on Wednesday the 4th of November 2020. At the time, some Commission members were out of Accra and this was communicated to the Leadership of Parliament.”

“It is also important to note that the Chairperson of the Commission has never turned down an invitation of the August House,” it added.

The statement said the Commission and its Leadership view Parliament as an important democratic institution and have always fully cooperated with Honorable Members.

The Commission is fully prepared to present its comprehensive report to the Leadership and Honorable Members of the House. In agreement with the Leadership, the Commission will present its Roadmap to the Honorable Members on Saturday the 7th of November 2020,” the statement concluded
