Tema DVLA rakes in GH₵3 m revenue in January

The Tema branch of the  Driver and Vehicle Licencing Authority (DVLA) realised 3 million Ghana Cedis revenue in January this year.

The revenue accrued from the registration of 4, 698 vehicles translated into GHC3,113,401 million. The figure is an improvement on GHC 2, 000,521 m earned from 3,590 vehicles registered for the same period last year.   The improvement is an appreciation of revenue by about 23%.

The Tema Regional DVLA Manager, Atta Kumah Mensah said the improvement is the result of several interventions such as liberalisation of processes, enhancement of equipment and improvement of customer relations.

He advised vehicle owners to endeavour to register and insured their vehicles to be road worthy. This, he noted will help vehicle owners to claim their insurance in the event of accident.

Mr. Mensah said taking their (DVLA) services to the doors of customers and the conduct of outreach programmes for drivers in the catchment area, is yielding dividend, highlighting the premium service which is helping to rake  in more revenue.

He was enthusiastic of the workers' output as he walked through some logistical improvement, hinting that his outfit had targeted a revenue appreciation by about 20 percent for 2018.
