Highlife star, Ofori Amponsah, says there are few quality songs on the market currently because musicians these days don’t invest quality time in making their music.
The ‘Emmanuella’ hit maker , who recently retired from the pulpit to return to his first love , highlife, said people prefer to listen to senior musicians like Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba among others because of the quality of songs they produce.
Speaking to Atinka TV on Saturday, the man who prefers the name, “Mr All for Real” said, current artists “don’t portray who we are as Ghanaians and they don’t invest enough time in making their music.”
According to him, Ghanaian music can easily make waves on the international scene if artists spend a little more time in producing their music. He revealed that, he spends about six months to make a quality track
Ofori Amponsa further claimed that Nigerians have taken over highlife because Ghanaains have abandoned their roots and rather copying other people’s culture
He criticized MUSIGA for not promoting the interest of musicians in the country adding, “for me as a person, I don’t know what MUSIGA has done for me.”
Ofori Amponsah revealed that he was looking forward to another collaboration with highlife king, Daddy Lumba.
