Country Manager of Euroget De – Invest, Mr. Prince Armah, has given an assurance to the government and the people of Ghana that the Madina 100-bed Hospital facility is to be completed next year April 2018.
The project, he mentioned is about 80% complete and would be rounded off within the stipulated time agreed on by both Government of Ghana and Euroget De – Invest.
Euroget De – Invest is an Egyptian Investment Project Finance and Management Company which was awarded a contract in 2008 to build 9 hospitals with about 1310 beds across the country including that of Madina.
Amongst the facilities is the 500-bed Military hospital for the Ministry of Defense and 8 hospitals for the Health Ministry; including two regional hospitals at Wa and Kumasi whilst the remaining 5 are district hospitals in Salaga, Twifo Praso, Konongo, Tepa and Nsokor.
It is also projected that the 8 other hospitals are expected to be completed and commissioned around the same time as that of the Madina 100-bed hospital.
Speaking to the media after a brief tour of the facility as part of their activities to update the public of the progress of the hospital, Mr. Prince Armah reiterated that all the 9 hospital are built and equipped with very advanced gadgets and equipment.
And that facilities are of value for money and would serve the best interest of the community. However, the total cost of all the 9 projects is estimated at $ 519 dollars which is pre-financed by Euroget De – Invest and would be paid by government of Ghana.
Mr. Armah also bemoaned the devastating effect of demurrage on their finances as they pay close to $ 2million dollars as cost of demurrage.
