Kuntu Blankson nurtures Ekumfi constituency, pledges to recapture seat

As part of efforts in strengthening the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and readying it for the 2020 polls, a Former Member of Parliament, Hon. George Kuntu Blankson, has donated motorbikes, bicycles and a cash amount to the Ekumfi Constituency of the NDC in the Central region.

Hon .Kuntu Blankson who is a former Deputy Majority Chief Whip says the donation is part of his personal initiative in ensuring the party is on a sound footing to reclaim the Ekumfi Seat   in view of the fact that the Ekumfi Constituency is a strong hold of the NDC which the party lost the Parliamentary seat narrowly to the NPP.

The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC)  Abeiku  Crentsil,  who it is reported lost favour with constituents who were yearning to see his exit from parliament after being accused of failing to facilitate development.

Hitherto 2012 and 2016, the NDC had dominated the constituency which was carved out of the then Mfantsiman East Constituency since 1996 until the NPP took over in 2016.

As part of his contributions in this respect, he donated a cash amount of GHS 10,000 (Ten Thousand Cedis), five motor bikes (5) and ten (10) bicycles to be given to ward Coordinators whom he described as critical in party organization.

Hon. Kuntu Blankson took the opportunity to express interest in wrestling the Ekumfi   seat on the ticket of the NDC and called on all and sundry to rally behind him in his bid promising good times under his watch as the lawmaker of the area.

Receiving the items on behalf of the party, Constituency Chairman, Joseph Antobam, a.k.a Alhaji OB, thanked Hon. Kuntu Blankson   for the gesture and indicated how the former MP has made him proud and was happy the party is receiving  such level of support.

He tasked other persons who hail from the area to emulate the example of Hon. Kuntu Blankson, explaining that, these gestures work in the common good of the party to realize its dream beyond 2020.
