KIA: New terminal 3 to accommodate 5 million passengers

The Minister of Aviation, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, has said the choice of Ghana as host of the 12th Routes Conference is very strategic.

According to her, the conference will showcase Ghana on the world map and that the forum, which will be an assembly of industry experts and leaders, will further boost the image of the country.

She said the move is a demonstration of the confidence reposed in Ghana's aviation industry coupled with government's determination to make Ghana an Aviation Hub in the Sub-Region.

Madam Dapaah said the new Terminal 3 will accommodate 5 million passengers a year and also process 1,200 passengers in an hour. She said the initiative speaks volumes of government's determination to improve services in the sector.

She further said that the ministry as part of its plans is determined to ensure that the necessary facilities and infrastructure are in place to match the increased growth in air trade.

The minister made the statement Friday at Movenpick Hotel during a press briefing on  the launch of the 12th  Routes Africa conference,

The Routes Conference is the world's largest commercial aviation conference that provides a forum for airline, airports, and tourism authority to meet and interact under one roof.

Meanwhile, Mr. John Dekyem Attafuah, Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited speaking in an exclusive interview with Atinka News said hosting the 12th routes Africa conference in Ghana will attract more airlines and other related business.
