Don’t abandon Bolga- Bawku road like other projects – Mahama to Akufo-Addo

Former President John Dramani Mahama has appealed to government not to abandon the Bolgatanga-Bawku road, as is the case of many projects that were started by his government, adding that the completion of the road is critical to the economic development of the region.

Mr. Mahama, who was addressing sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress on Saturday, during the party’s ninth Unity Walk, held on the grounds of the St. Johns Park in Bolgatanga accused the Akufo Addo administration of not continuing with works on infrastructural projects that were started during his tenure of office.

He said works on schools, hospitals, roads and other infrastructure have all been halted since the NPP took power after the 2016 general election.

“A lot of the projects we started have stalled. Many of the hospitals we were building have come to a stop. Many of the schools we were building have come to a stop. Many of the roads and hospitals we were building have all come to a stop. But I have one appeal, one appeal, if there is one project that we started that is critical to the economic development of the Upper East Region, then it is the Bolga-Bawku road. So if President Akufo Addo won’t do anything for the people of the Upper East at all, we beg him, as for that road, he should continue it and finish it for us,”. Mr. Mahama said.
