Dompoase: 50 students use only one 'tattered textbook' to learn

The plight of ‘hopeless’ pupils of Dompoase Demonstration Basic School in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region, has been brought to the fore as the debate on quality education in the country rages on.

The primary three class, which has a little over 50 pupils, uses only one tattered Twi (Akan) textbook during class hours.

The headmaster of the school Mr. Akwasi Yeboah, broke the heartbreaking news Wednesday when some old students launched the “Back to Skuul” project to raise funds for the school.

He also revealed that the whole school has about 12 textbooks, which makes teaching and learning very difficult.

He further revealed   that the school has never befitted from the national school feeding programme ever since it was launched in 2007.

Mr. Akwasi Yeboah, therefore, called on government and corporate organizations to come to the aid of the school and give hope to the children
