Dec 7: We’ll chase out security officers in unapproved uniforms-Sam George warns

The NDC Member of Parliament for the Ningo Prampram Constituency, Sam Nartey George, has vowed to chase out security personnel who will turn up for the December election monitoring duty in his constituency without the approved uniform.

According to him, the NDC will prevent a repetition of the Ayawaso West Wuogon incident, warning such individuals will be dealt with. He gave the warning during a memorial walk by supporters of NDC within the Eastern Corridors of the country in remembrance of the late former president, Jerry Rawlings in Prampram.

According to the legislator, parliament was assured by the IGP and Minister of Interior of some approved uniform for security personnel who will be deployed at the various polling centers to provide security on election day.

However, he said close sources within the corridors of the National Security indicates that, the sector minister, Kan Dapaah and one Captain Koda are planning to unleash some land guards who were recruited by the office of the national security, to intimidate voters in NDC strongholds on election day.

He said the NDC members  in the Ningo Prampram Constituency are adequately prepared to protect the interest of the citizenry and will chase out any person who storms the constituency in their “Khaki outfits” under the guise of national security. He warned such persons will not be treated kindly since they will only accept personnel in approved security uniforms for this year’s elections.

The Jerry John Rawlings Memorial Walk by supporters of the NDC along the eastern corridors of the country attracted thousands of party faithful from the Ada, Sege, Osu Doku and Ningo Prampram constituencirs. Some notable executives who graced the occasion included, National Communications director, Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC parliamentary candidates for Ada, Sege and Osudoku.
