The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko, has described the controversy surrounding the President Akufo-Addo's Nima residence as needless and unnecessary.
Shop owners who have been operating around the President’s private residence for more than two decades have been given a March 15 deadline to relocate after receiving various compensation packages.
The compensation package ranges between GHC3,000 and GHC10,000.
Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Tuesday, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of playing politics with the issue.
According to him, the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, is the first gentleman of the land and an attack on him is an attack on the nation.
“The President has an East Legon residence, has he asked people to vacate that area? Nana Addo is now the President of Ghana, he is not a minister and neither is he a presidential aspirant,” he added.
He asked Ghanaians to desist from politicizing the situation and take into consideration the security implications if there is any breach.
