Akufo Addo’s 'defrauding by false pretense’ charge will fall flat – George Loh

A former National Democratic Congress [NDC] Member of Parliament for North Dayi Constituency, George Loh, says the President’s “defrauding by false pretense’ against FA boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi will fall flat in court.

Kwesi Nyantakyi has allegedly been caught in a video excerpt luring some international investors to part with various sums of monies meant to entice the palms of president Akufo-Addo, the vice president Dr. Bawumia, and some other state officials.

President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday directed the Criminal Investigation Department to invite Chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi for defrauding by false pretense.

However, speaking to Kaakyire Ofori Ayim on Atinka AM Drive Wednesday, George Loh, stated that from the excerpt of the video that has gone viral on social media, the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is not a complainant in the case.

He added that the President is not in any way affected by the statement made by Kwasi Nyantakyi in the said video.

“What is the prima facie case in the whole situation? How is the President implicated in the video? Why did he wait for Kwasi Nyantakyi to travel before making a complaint? The Presidency has a lot more questions to answer,” he asked

According to him, the President got the information three weeks now and wondered why he is taking action now.
