Minister for Food and Agriculture (MOFA), Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto has admonished angry students of the five Agricultural Training Colleges to exercise patience as their issue is before Cabinet.
And that he being an agriculturist understand their concerns and problems, thus after some processes, Cabinet will sooner than later take a decision to resolve their issues.
The students and their leadership called Agricultural Colleges Students Union (ACSU), upon noticing that their colleague trainee nurses had gotten their allowances, thronged the premises of the Agric Ministry to demand their share.
According to them, it beats their imagination how government could pay 58000 trainee nurses an amount of GHC 232 million and neglecting just a handful of 3000 Agric students.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto said even though the NPP government did not promise the Agric Students allowances, they will still pay them.
He also added that Government has sorted out some issues of employment with the IMF, hence government would employ over 3000 extension officers for the planting for food and job project.
