Alhaji Umar Farouk Aliu Mahama was born on 27th April, 1981 to a prominent political family as the son of HE Alhaji Aliu Mahama and HE Hajia Ramatu Mahama (Former Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, 2001-2009).
Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama started his basic education at Presby Experimental School in Tamaie and was later enroIIed in the Achimota school.
He proceeded to Prempeh College in Kumasi to undertake his secondary education and later to Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) where he earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing.
Farouk Aliu Mahama holds a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management from the Coventry University in England, the United Kingdom and a Certified International Supply Chain Professional from International Purchashing and Supply Chain Management Institute-USA.

Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has two (2) sons, Maltiti Aiiu Mahama Jr and Nurudeen Mahama with his wife Ayisha Mahama.
As a native Yendi extract, Farouk Aliu Mahama speaks fluent Dagbani, Hausa, Twi and elementary speaker of Ga.
He has openly professed his hobby in football and philanthrOpy. Awards Most Promising Politician, Northern Excellence Awards.
Above all, he is a Philanthropist and a Politician.
Currently, he is an aspiring Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Yendi Constituency.
Before joining the race, he embarked on a lot of philanthropic works including sponsoring the training of 600 girls/women in Shea butter production and soap making, providing initial capital for them to start their businesses, donated sports paraphernalia to the youth in the constituency and also sponsored several unity matches in the Constituency.
Farouk Aliu Mahama also acquired and distributed over 600 pieces of knapsack sprayers to farmers in the Yendi area, distributed farm implements and inputs including fertilizers, cutlasses, weedicides and anti-snake bites to over 800 farmers to improve their yields and safety.
Still on his philanthropic mission, he donated 100 bags of cement to support the construction of an Administration Block at Yendi Colledge of Health Sciences and an amount of Ghc5000 to support the TESCON branch of the institution.
He has paid school fees as well as assist in securing scholarships for nearly 100 students in Yendi and its environs.
Despite his achievements, he still remains humble and respectful, and continues to demonstrate his love for humanity.
