We'll stop food donors who ignore social distance directive-Oppong Nkrumah

The Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has urged food donors to ensure that beneficiaries of their benevolence do not go against the directives given by the health professionals especially social distancing while sharing their food.
He observed that people turn to pack themselves at such places disregarding social distancing in their quest to have a share of the food being distributed, a situation that can cause the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Although he applauded those whose purpose is to help the vulnerable or needy, he noted that their efforts will be counter productive if sharing food rather cause the people to misbehave.
In a press briefing, the Minister stated that Government will not hesitate to stop food donors like it did to the markets if they do not ensure social distancing while sharing their food.
He advised them to demarcate the standing points to at least 2 meters in order to stop the spread of the virus.
