We will evacuate students in China if it becomes necessary – Nana Addo

President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, has extended his sympathy to China over the outbreak of the global epidemic, Coronavirus.
Death toll for the coronavirus has reportedly risen to 2000.
Health officials say the new  virus is a family of viruses that include the common cold, and viruses such as SARS and MERS.
Coronaviruses are common in many different species of animals, including camels and bats. Rarely, these coronaviruses can evolve and infect humans and then spread between humans, recent examples of this include SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV.
Until 2019 most coronaviruses infect animals, but not people.
Delivering the fourth State of The Nation Address on the floor of Parliament, President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, stated wished the Chinese government well it deals with the outbreak of Coronavirus.
He stated that government has not ruled out the option of repatriating Ghanaian students from Wuhan due to the outbreak of Coronavirus and that if it becomes necessary, these students will be evacuated.
Former President of the National Union of Ghana Students in China, Philip Arthur, earlier stated that students in China need evacuation from China and not money.
This comes after government, in a statement, said it has released money to be disbursed to Ghanaian students in China.
“The government is being insensitive, we are calling for evacuation and you are sending us money, how good is money to a dying soul. Even if the monies get to the students by what means are you transporting yourself to town since transport systems are not working in China, this is what we are talking about, we are talking about safety. We are not in need of money” he fumed.
