Video:New Voters' Register: EC ensures safety protocols at registration centres

The Electoral Commission (EC) has ensured that all safety protocols to stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) are being adhered to at the various registration centres whiles the new register is being compiled.
Most Ghanaians were apprehensive of going to queue to have a new voters’ ID amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, with some calling on government to put a hold on the compilation of the new register until the pandemic is over.
However, the EC before the exercise assured Ghanaians that it will ensure all safety protocols are put in place to protect eligible voters from the virus.
It has been noticed that the temperatures of all participants are screened before they participate.
They are all directed to wash their hands before they also take part in the exercise.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that inside the registration centres, people observe the social distancing but outside the centres, there is nothing like social distancing.
According to Atinka reporters, the process which was supposed to take about 10 minutes as stated by the EC takes about 15 minutes.
