Vehicle runs into onion sellers at Oforikrom; seven injured


 
Seven persons sustained various degrees of injuries when a Toyota Camry vehicle rammed into onion sellers at the Angloga Onion Market in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region on Tuesday.  

The victims include four onion sellers, a child of one of the sellers and two occupants of the vehicle. 

The driver of the Toyota Camry with registration number GC 394 – 13, ran into the traders following a brake failure.

“I saw the car coming, but I thought the driver was about to park to buy some onions.  Unfortunately, the car rammed into the traders after a suspected brake failure,” an eyewitness told Atinka Media Village Ashanti Regional correspondent, Kwabena Frimpong Manso.

Two of the victims who are in critical condition have been transferred from the KNUST Hospital to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Police have commenced investigations into the sad incident.
