Ursula sues A-plus

Popular musician and sympathiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A-plus, has been sued by the Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekulful.

She is seeking an interlocutory injunction to restrain A-Plus from making “further defamatory comments” about her.

A-Plus had accused Mrs Owusu-Ekulful of being involved in a shady deal at the Communications Ministry. He also alleged that the government was using the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwasi Nyanatkyi’s saga to cover up for her in the $89/178million GVG Kelni scandal.”

He said, “Kwesi Nyantakyi is only being sacrificed to cover up the 89/178 million dollars GVG Kelni Stinking scandal.”

The Communications Minister, through her lawyers, demanded an apology and retraction from A-Plus or be sued. However, the musician refused to apologise and retract, resulting in the suit against him.

“We are also instructed to notify you to render an unqualified apology in the same medium and prominence in the manner that your libellous publication was done. Please be informed that if you fail to retract and apologise to our client in or before Friday 1st June 2018, we shall proceed to court to vindicate our client’s rights without any further recourse to you,” her lawyers stated.
