Tema East MP foots medical bill of young man with bone cancer

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema East and Deputy Transport Minister, Daniel Titus Glover, has agreed to pay for the GHC50,000 medical expenses for the surgery of a young man, who has been down with a bone (knee) cancer for months now.

The 18 -year- old Winfred Narh, a resident of Tema Newtown, a community in the Tema East Constituency, was struck by the ailment after completing his senior high school education.

The situation has in some way jeopardised his dreams of a tertiary education. 

Attempts by the parents to seek treatment for the young man’s ailment which begun as a boil, saw them spending all they had but to no avail.

With the young man’s ailment taking a nosedive, family and friends began a media appeal for GHS50,000 to aid in the surgery of the young man.

The appeal got the attention of the Member of Parliament for the area, Titus Glover, who have agreed to foot the medical expenses for the surgery.

In a meeting with the family of the young man, Titus Glover, assured them of his willingness to foot the GHS50,000 medical bill, which he says will be the biggest medical intervention in his constituency so far.

The young man has since been transferred to the Tema General Hospital, where his operation is expected to be carried out.

The elated family of Winfred Narh, could not hide their excitement, and thanked the MP for this unprecedented gesture.
