Takoradi: "CID aided my escape"- kidnapping suspect confesses

A Nigerian suspect, Samuel Udoetuk Wills believed to be one of the people behind the Takoradi Kidnapping case has disclosed to Takoradi District Magistrate Court that he was aided by an Officer of the Criminal and Investigation Department (CID) of the Takoradi District Police Station to escape from police custody.

The suspect escaped from police custody on 30th December, 2018 after he was remanded to re-appear before court on 6th of January, 2019.

A Nigerian resident in Ghana, Samuel Udoetuk Wills suspected kidnapper who broke police cells and ran away has disclosed to Takoradi District Magistrate Court presided over by Mr. Michael Kudjo Ampadu that his escape from the police cells was aided by an officer of the Criminal and Investigation Department (CID) of the Takoradi District Police Station.

He mentioned other two friends who supposedly assisted the CID to enable his escape as Kwesi and John.

The suspect escaped from the police custody after the court has remanded him to re-appear before the court on 6th of January, 2019.

According to the prosecutor, the suspect, Samuel Udoetuk Wills escaped from police custody by cutting the top and down of the 5/8 inches of the ventilation window of the police cell of the Takoradi District Police Station on 30th December, 2018, after he was arrested for being associated to the Kidnapping of some three girls reported missing in Takoradi.

He was later re-arrested at his hide-out in Ntankorful a suburb of Takoradi. The suspect told the court that he can identify the CID Officer who aided his escape when an identification parade is made.

The Presiding Judge, Mr. Michael Kudjo Ampadu, adjourned the case to 18th February, 2019 to enable the suspect, Samuel Udoetuk Wills bring his accomplices (Kwesi and John) who are currently at large.

Currently, the suspect, Samuel Wills is in the police custody assisting the police in investigation for allegedly behind the three girls reported missing in Takoradi.

Samuel Udoetuk Wills is facing three counts of charges including escape from lawful police custody, destroying public property and resisting arrest.

However, a deep throat at the Ghana Police Headquarters has disclosed to ATINKA NEWS that the said CID whose name was given as Sergeant Ametefe has been detained at the CID headquarters for aiding the escape of the victim, Samuel Udoetuk Wills.

The source also revealed that the victim, Samuel Udoetuk Wills is a harden criminal and Ex-convict of the same offence in Nigeria.

Meanwhile family members of the Kidnapped girls have expressed dissatisfaction over how the trial of the Suspect Samuel Udoetuk Wills is going.
