Presiding Bishop of Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev Dr Paul k. Boafo has urged government and institutional leaders to support science education in the country to help in the development of the nation.
According to him, the support from stakeholders to science education is absolutely necessary that, “if we give a little push to our young girls and boys, they can bring more achievement to the nation because it can bring out the honor and development that we all looking forward to achieve as a nation.’’
Dr Paul k Boafo made the plea when the Mamfe Methodist Girls’ High School students who topped the world in the Senior Division of the World Robofest Championship in the USA presented the trophy to the leadership of the Methodist Church Ghana.
Speaking to the team, Dr Paul K. Boafo pleaded with government to make Science and Technology education essential in Ghana to benefit the whole nation.
He also asked parents to help their wards enjoy science education.
Congratulating the student, the church presented to the school a 2 brand new robot kit and $2,200.
An amount of GHC 300 was giving to each student whiles the coach was giving 500 Ghana cedis.
