Showdown in Parliament as ‘anti-military base’ activists denied entry

The atmosphere in Parliament House currently is a shimmering one as scores of people wearing red armbands have been denied entry into the law-making chamber.

Atinka News Paul Elorm Norsah reports that some activists besieged the House Friday morning to register their displeasure over the US-Ghana military base deal expected to be laid before parliament rises later tonight. However, they were denied entry by the security officials.

The Marshall and Public Affairs Department of Parliament are tightly lipped over the matter

One of the activists, Ernesto Yeboah of the Conventions Peoples Party (CPP), slammed Parliament's security for denying them access to  the House which is a public facility.
