Sex for Grades: Professor Gyampo denies allegation, threatens court action

An Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Ghana, Legon, Prof. Ransford Gyampo has denied abusing students sexually for grades.

Prof. Ransford Gyampo said this after he was implicated in BBC Africa Eye’s latest expose “Sex for Grades”.

Professor Gyampo is also the Head of European Studies at the University in Ghana.

Professor Gyampo, allegedly requested to marry one of the BBC reporters who posed as a student seeking academic favors.

Excerpts of the yet-to-be released documentary saw Prof. Ransford Gyampo requesting to marry one of the BBC’s investigative Journalists who posed as a student in search of favors form his department.

However, in an interview with Accra Based Citi Fm, Professor Gyampo said, “I didn’t see anything like that [in the video] and I have not done anything like that,”.

He described the allegation as a ploy to tarnish his reputation.
