Rawlings describes late Francis Sasu as “affable and revered”

 

Former President Jerry John Rawlings has described the former Head of News and Current Affairs of Atinka Media Village, Francis Sasu, as an affable person whom one could just not resist liking.

The late Francis Sasu worked closely with former president Rawlings as the presidential reporter from 1983 to 7th January, 2001. Recounting some of his fondest memories with Francis Sasu, the former president commended him for his hard work for the country especially his duties as a journalist. “He had an affable nature that one could not resist liking.He really worked for the country,” the former president said.

He made the remarks when the family of the late Head of News and Current Affairs of Atinka Media Village, Francis Sasu and management of Atinka Media Village called on him to officially announce the demise of their brother and former colleague. Nana Kojo Darko, Adehyehene of Obo-Kwahu who led the delegation said, there will be a pre-burial service on Saturday 19th January at the love Presbyterian Church at Asofan. The mortal remains of Francis Sasu who was affectionately called FS, will later be interred at the Presbyterian Church cemetery at Obo-Kwahu which will be followed by his final funeral rites at Asofan School Park in Accra.

Jeff Sasu, son of the former GTV and Atinka TV Head of News and Current Affairs, described his father as one who loved his worked and always went the extra mile to get the work done. He added that though his father had gone on retirement at GBC, he again took up another role at Atinka TV out of passion and delivered well.

Managing Director of Atinka Media Village, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour,  assured the former president that Atinka Media Village will liaise with the family of the late Francis Sasu, to complete and a publish a book he was working on regarding his work with the former president as  presidential reporter for about 18 years.
