Protect Industrial lands for development- Dep. Trade Minister begs Ahanta chiefs

The Deputy Trade and Industry Minister, Hon Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, has charged Chiefs, Municipal Chief Executives and opinion leaders of Ahanta West in the Western  Region to make conscious effort to protect industrial lands in the municipality.
According to him, the move will ensure the availability of land for development initiatives like the One District, One Factory in the municipality.
Mr. Ahenkorah made this call in his welcome address at the inauguration of newly elected Assembly members and Unit Committee Members.
The inauguration, which took place at the District Assembly office at Agona-Nkwanta Thursday saw the swearing-inn of 50 individuals, made up of elected assembly members, unit committee members, and appointees.
He said, the One District, One Factory initiative was implemented by the government to help create jobs for Ghanaians, so the rate at which unemployment is growing in Ghana could be reduced.
Mr. Ahenkorah assured that the people of Ahanta will soon get a factory when the ministry gets a promoter who is ready to invest in the project.
Touching on working together as an Assembly, Mr. Ahenkorah urged the Member of Parliament, Municipal Chief Executive, and Constituency executives to come together and work for the development of the Municipality and the country as a whole.
The Municipal Chief Executive of Ahanta West, Mrs. Henrietta Mary Eyeson in her welcome remarks, commended the assembly members and charged them to unite and work as a team.
She, therefore, tasked Ghanaian citizens to be law-abiding by paying necessary taxes to enhance effective development in the country.
Member of Parliament for Ahanta West Constituency, Lawyer Ebenezer Kojo Kum also urged the members to work hard to fulfill every promise they made during their campaigns and asked the Assembly members to unite and develop the Constituency.
