Pratt: Jamestown clash shameful and distasteful

The Managing Editor for the Insight Newspaper, Kwasi Pratt Jnr, has asked members of both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) to bow their hands in shame over the clash at Odododiodio.

The two main political parties, NPP, NDC are at each others throat over who started the clash in Jamestown.

A peace walk by the NDC turned turned violent in Jamestown in the Odododiodio constituency Sunday morning.

The peace walk, which was supposed to be peaceful saw supporters of the two main parties throwing bottles and stones at each other.

Both NPP and NDC have written their statements at the Police Station, which each of them blaming the other for starting the violence.

A  number of persons reportedly suffered various degrees of injuries.

In an exclusive interview with host of Atinka FM’s AM Drive with Ekourba Gyasi, Kwasi Pratt, noted that both parties failed to practice the peace they both preach.

According to Kwesi Pratt, he is reliably informed that both parties are barred from campaigning or holding political rallies on Sundays.

Kwesi Pratt attributed the recent clashes to failure of the security agencies to prove that they are neutral and are not bias.

“ These kinds of acts are disgusting and I’m not surprised because the Security agencies are not neutral. You can just tell the political affiliations of our various security agencies. A clear example is the Ayawaso West Wuogon incident. If we had punished perpetrators of the Ayawaso incident, it would have served as a deterrent to others,” he added.
