Odumase Krobo: 2 robbers nabbed after attacking Petrol tanker, 2 other Vehicles

Two armed robbers have been apprehended by the Odumase-Krobo police command in the Eastern region for allegedly attacking a petrol tanker driver, and two other a Police wireless information has said.

They two whose names were given as Bukari Amadu and Haruna Asor were apparently part of a 6 member armed robbery gang who had earlier attacked two vehicles enroute Asesewa, robbing them of their belongings including various sums of money.

The armed men shot at a Police officer during the exchange of gun fire between the police and robbers.

A reinforcement team of armed military personnel was sent from Michel Camp to comb the area and pursue the armed men, the two were arrested in the process.

AK47 riffle No. A7123 plus it's ammunition, 9 rounds of G3 ammunition, single barrel locally made gun with 2AA live cartridges, 1BB cartridge and one 1AA empty shell, AK47 and a locally manufactured gun were retrieved.

The military is still combing Odumase-Krobo searching for the for the other 4 members of the armed men. The two suspects have since been transferred to Police Headquarters -Accra.

Sgt. Daniel Akamaro who was shot in the process was admitted at the Atua Government Hospital for treatment but later discharged.
