The National Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Henry Boakye, also known as Nana B has stated that the NPP government is ready to rally behind the Electoral Commission (EC) to conduct a new voters’ register for the upcoming general elections.
According to him, the NPP members, supporters and leaders are fully prepared and will come out in April for the exercise because is a constitutional mandate for the EC to compile a new voters’ register.
Nana B was speaking at a ceremony held in the Volta Region to mark 20th anniversary of the NPP’s Tertiary Students Confederacy, TESCON.
He also noted that the compilation of a new voters’ register will enable fresh eligible persons unto the system.
Nana B however called on the Former President, John Mahama to apologise for his comments made last week over EC’s decision to conduct the new register.
