NIA to end registration in the Eastern Region on March 27

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has revealed plans to end its mass registration exercise in the Eastern Region on 27th  March 2020.
The Chief Executive Officer of NIA, Professor Kenneth Attafuah made this known at a press briefing to kick start the registration exercise in the Eastern Region.

The  NIA started the mass registration on the 29th April, 2019 in the Greater Accra Region. Since then, the exercise has taken place in 15 regions  with the Eastern Region being the last.
The exercise will  take place in the Eastern Region from 4th to 27th of March in the Eastern Region.
Briefing the media, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Identification Authority, Professor Ken Attafuah pointed out that, although the exercise has been successful, poor network connectivity has been a major challenge confronting their work.
He cautioned registration officials who intend to extort monies from applicants before attending to them to put a stop to it, adding that they will be strictly and firmly dealt with.
