Political Science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Amoako Baah has downplayed the relevance of NDC's ideological school called Ghana Institute of Social Democracy which is to strengthen further the social democratic ideology being the underpinnings of the work of the NDC.

According to him, the political history of the biggest opposition party shows clearly that their social democratic ideologies are at variance with their practices as they have always propagated.

The institution which is expected to serve as a center for research into changing global ideological perspectives of the social democratic tradition and realign itself with the emerging global trends had its opening launched at the party’s national headquarters on Thursday.

It currently will operate at the party’s headquarters as its main campus is under construction.

Speaking on Atinka FM's show "Simpieso" Thursday, he said it is so appalling that as social democrats, they sold several public firms and superintended over the collapse of many others.

He further explained that with the modern day politics, the masses buy into the manifestoes of political parties more than ideologies and traditions.

And that with our already political society which is polarised with tribalism, such a school would have the tendency of deepening  tribal politics in the country, thus threatening our very survival as people.
