NDC should read and understand data- Bawumia jabs

Vice President for the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has asked the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to read and understand data so they don’t misinform Ghanaians like “their mosquito” did at the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court on Thursday 25th June 2020 dismissed two suits that were seeking the use of the existing voter identification card and birth certificates as the source documents for the impending voter registration exercise.

After the ruling, it was revealed that both parties did not understand the ruling and were waiting to seek further clarifications from the court.

But the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Aseidu Nketia, in an interview with the press said the court had ruled in their favour and that the old voter ID cards were to be used for the compilation of the new register.

Speaking after he was selected as running mate of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for the fourth time at the Special National Council meeting at Alisa Hotel in Accra Saturday morning, Bawumai said he is aware that the NDC does not read.

“The opposition should read and understand the data so they don’t misinform Ghanaians like their mosquito did at the Supreme Court”, he said.

Bawumia expressed his appreciation to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for reaching out to him again for the fourth time to be his running mate.

“I accept the nomination and I am ready and prepared to serve. I am reporting to duty”, he said.
