Vigilante group, the hawks, reportedly attacked the Ashanti Regional Office of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) killing one person in the process.

One other person is also in a critical condition following the attack. Members of the vigilante group who were clothed in “Hawks” inscribed shirts reportedly arrived at the Ashanti Regional NDC Office with motorbikes, cutlasses and pistols to stop the meeting.

In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Tuesday, Frank Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium, who was at the Ashanti Regional Office  during the shooting, has called on the leaders of the two main political parties in Ghana to come out and disband these vigilante groups.

“I will plead with the two leaders to come out disband as well as disassociate themselves from these vigilante groups. If we don’t find a lasting solution to this political vigilantism, it will get to a time that these people will pick up guns and wipe off Ghanaians”

Meanwhile, General Secretary for the NDC, Johnson Aseidu Nketia, has also called on the Police to bring to book persons who masterminded the violent act.
