Girls with combination and oily skin often face the problem of selecting skin care products. Many creams, foundations and concealers, after a couple of hours of application, simply fall into the wide pores on the skin. How to minimize facial pores at home? Let’s have a look…

Enlarged pores on the skin are a consequence not only of a specific skin type, but also of poor skin care, bad nutrition or simply  personal care mistakes, such as smoking and alcohol, as well as bad beauty habits, of course.

Often, girls choose primers that are silicone-based in order to mask pores. These products actually can work wonders, just like Photoshop. The skin is smoothed and kind of blurred, and then the foundation lasts all day long. But we all know that the problem should not be masked, but solved.

Let’s have a look at some natural products that can be used to help beat enlarged pores.

Cleanse your skin well

Any problem needs to be addressed wisely and pores are no exception. Whatever problem you are trying to solve for your skin (whether it’s acne, dryness, pigmentation), your skin care products are much less effective, if applied to skin that is not well cleansed. So first step would be to cleanse your skin gently and thouroughly.

Natural products that can help tighten pores:

Cucumber juice

Combine the cucumber juice with oatmeal to make a thick paste. Apply the paste evenly on the face and leave for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. This mask not only helps to narrow the pores, but also improves the texture of the skin, as well as its tone.

Egg whites

Egg protein can tighten and tone the skin, as well as remove excess fat from the pores. Take one egg white, mix it with 1 tablespoon of oatmeal and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Stir until smooth and apply on cleansed face for 15 minutes, rinse with cold water (this is important, protein can be influenced by hot water). Make this mask 2 times a week and see how your face changes for good. Egg masks are excellent remedies for clogged pores, and can also be used to treat some forms of acne.

Natural face masks to beat enlarged pores:

Use ice for beauty and freshess

Rubbing your face and neck with an ice cube is one of the best and most effective ways to reduce large pores. It also helps to reduce the production of sebum within a couple of hours, tones the skin, and even gives some lifting effect. Make it a rule to do this procedure every morning after washing your face.

Honey and sugar to minimize pores

We have already told you about the beneficial properties of honey. To beat enlarged pores, you can use honey in a scrub form with added sugar. Take 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and mix them with a little lemon juice. Cleanse your face with your usual cleanser, apply the scrub to your face and massage gently, especially the areas with enlarged pores. Rinse with warm water.

Tomato juice to tighten pores

Squeeze the juice of one tomato without pulp and apply on the face for 15 minutes. Tomatoes contain a lot of acid and potassium, which can help reduce acne spots on the face and help narrow enlarged pores.

Baking soda to cleanse the skin and minimize pores

Baking soda has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help in treating acne and large pores. Make a paste by mixing equal parts of baking soda and warm water (approximately 2 tablespoons of each). Apply this paste on the face and gently massage the baking soda into the pores for a minute. Rinse your face thoroughly with cool water. This procedure helps remove dead skin cells, dust and other impurities. Soda regulates the oxygen content in the skin and helps regulate its pH level.

Aloe vera to nourish and tighten pores

Moisturizing the skin with aloe vera juice can also help narrow enlarged pores. Aloe vera juice cleanses and nourishes the skin, and also removes grease and dirt from even the deepest pores.

Clay masks to minimise pores

Clay masks help not only narrow pores, but also normalize the amount of sebum secretion. They perfectly cleanse the skin and also have whitening properties. Green and white clay masks are the best for minimizing enlarged pores. After using a clay mask, the skin is noticeably fresher and it even begins to glow with beauty.

Parsley to freshen the skin and tighten large pores

Parsley has an excellent ability to regulate the production of sebum. This property makes it an effective treatment for acne and inflammation. Parsley has astringent effect, it helps cleanse pores from dirt, as well as narrow them, it removes toxins, and also reduces redness and lightens post-acne scars. Chop some fresh parsley very finely to form some sort of juice. Mix 1 tablespoon of the resulting paste with 1 tablespoon of natural yogurt. Apply the mask to your face and rinse off with cool water after 15 minutes.

Lemon juice to whiten the skin and minimise pores

Lemon juice also has good astringent effect. Thus, it helps to tighten the skin and cleanse the pores. Lemon has been recognized as one of the most effective natural remedies for treating acne. For porous oily skin, a mask based on lemon juice and yogurt is perfect. To do the mask, simply mix 1 teaspoon of lemon juice with 1 teaspoon of natural yogurt and apply on face for 15 minutes. Then rinse with plenty of cool water. Such a mask can not only effectively narrow the pores, but it also whitens the skin. Perfect!
