Menzgold customers arrested for invading NAM1’s house granted bail

Some members of the aggrieved customers of Menzgold who were arrested by the Police for invading the Trassaco residence of the Menzgold CEO Nana Appiah Mensah to demand locked up cash have been granted bail.
Over 10,000 customers drawn from all the 16 regions in Ghana today stormed the East Legon residence of the Menzgold CEO Nana Appiah Mensah to demand locked up cash.
Luck, however, eluded them as 20 of the customers were arrested in the process of the tension.
The Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Afia Tenge, who confirmed the bail, to Atinka News noted that the Police has commenced investigations into the issue and that the 20 persons to be arraigned before court at the appropriate time.
The customers allegedly stormed the premises of the Menzgold CEO with Shockers, other ammunitions and Pepper spray.
Gold Dealership Company, Menzgold had publicized that it will commence payment of funds locked-up for over 3 years to customers of the company from Friday, December 27, 2019.
In an earlier interview with Atinka News, Organizer for the aggrieved Menzgold customers, Seth Nartey, noted that the customers would not leave the premises of NAM1 until monies owed them were paid.
Public Relations Officer for the team, Fred Forson, who spoke to host of Atinka FM’s AM Drive Ekourba Gyasi on Thursday January 9th 2020 explained that the customers stormed the Trassaco residence of the Menzgold boss to demand their monies peacefully.
“We went there to take our monies since we did not know where the pay masters who have supposedly paid 200 aggrieved customers of Menzgold were. We stood at the gate of NAM 1 only to hear about 6 gunshots from the premises of the Menzgold boss,” Fred Forson said.
Meanwhile, embattled Menzgold boss Nana Appiah Mensah, says he has expressed in camera the unfortunate incident which is purported to have been instigated by the top hierarchy of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He posted “I have just expressed my concerns in camera to the party top hierarchy regarding the unfortunate incident yesterday, purported to have been instigated by same. An expectation on a non-existence political capital in this Menzgold scenario would result in the shot of the campaign in the foot”.
We are dealing with a commercial challenge and we are very resolute, committed and focused to overcome. Vitally both, both sides should respectfully commit to bread & butter issues based campaign in appealing to voters. The Ghanaian political culture has greatly changed and improved. #Ghanashallprosperagain,”he said.
