Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku hits out at ‘lies’ amid transfer rumours

Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku has appeared to shut down speculation over his future.

The Belgian has been out of favour since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment at Old Trafford with the Norwegian preferring Marcus Rashford in a central role.

Lukaku was signed for £75million in 2017 from Everton but the Belgian’s often been criticised for his link-up play and suitability for Old Trafford.

The forward’s been linked with a move to Juventus in recent weeks, while reports have emerged of Solskjaer making it clear that Rashford is his number one striker.

Lukaku, though, has appeared to hit out at the reports in a post on his Instagram account.

Despite being displaced as United’s first choice striker, Lukaku has scored three times under Solskjaer.

The Belgian may get just his second start under the Norwegian in Friday’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Arsenal.

Alexis Sanchez is expected to feature against his former side after making just one start since Jose Mourinho’s departure.
