“LPG will win 2020 elections” – Kofi Akpalo

The Founder and Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, says he is optimistic that his party will emerge winner in the impending 2020 general elections.
The Electoral Commission (EC) requested over GHS400m for the compilation of a new voters’ register for the 2020 general election.
The call for a new voters’ has generated a heated debate among the major political parties in Ghana. The ruling NPP supports the call while the leading opposition party, the NDC is totally against it.
Kofi Akpaloo made this comment after host of Atinka FM’s AM Drive, Ekourba Gyasi, asked how prepared the LPG is for the 2020 general elections.
He explained that his victory in the 2020 is not negotiable and that he is working assiduously towards capturing power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“2020 is the year that the mantle will be handed over to Akpalo and the LPG to lead Ghana for the next four years and so we are much focused and we are working towards that. Our victory is non-negotiable. I will be president in 2020, there’s no doubt about it.” He added.
Kofi Akpaloo revealed that the party has a well-planned mechanism which will capture power for the LPG in the elections.
Commenting on the compilation of a new voters register by the Electoral Commission, Kofi Akpalo who is the spokesperson for persons who support the EC’s agenda noted that the old register is corrupted hence the need for a new one.
“I will win the 2020 elections and I want to win the elections genuinely. I don’t trust the current register and I believe a new one will give us free and fair elections,” he said.
Meanwhile a statement by the EC’s Eminent Advisory committee hinted a meeting between the EC, Eminent Advisory committee and the Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) to have further discussions on the EC’s call for a new register.
“Meanwhile the Eminent Advisory Committee calls for calm from all Political Parties and other stakeholders as they work in the national interest,” the statement added.
