Kumasi High Court places injunction on NPP elections

 

A Kumasi High Court has granted an application for injunction filed by Mr Richard Owusu, 2nd Vice Chairman, restraining the Manhyia South Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from holding election to pick new officers.

He is challenging his disqualification from the Manhyia South Chairmanship contest, a businessman, who filed his nomination to contest for the constituency chairman position.         

Meanwhile, Chairman for the Constituency Gabriel Anane, Vetting Committee Chairman, Mr. Amoako Tuffour and the  Electoral Commission (EC) who's to supervised tomorrow's elections at Kumasi Anglican Church, Ash Town has been served with the  court suit  restraining him from holding elections. 

According to reports, some members and supporters of the NPP have gathered at the office of the disqualified chairperson's office in solidarity to cheer him up for taking a bold step to place court injunction on tomorrow’s elections.
