Kotoko ex-striker, Abukari Gariba, gets support after Atinka TV's report

The Asante Kotoko LEGENDS CLUB (a welfare union of Kotoko ex-players), over the weekend, paid a visit to the club's ex striker Abukari Gariba aka “goal na mafi f3”.

The visit comes after Atinka TV's Saddick Adams filed a report on how Kotoko ex-striker, Abukari Gariba, has resorted to begging on the streets of Kumasi to make a living.

A story which has touched the hearts of members of the Asante Kotoko LEGENDS CLUB.

The delegation, led by legend Malik Jabir, discussed how to give ex striker Abukari Gariba eternal assistance like a capital to engage in petty trading.

The group also settled on getting him provisions regularly while they cater for the major issues like health (hospitalization), rent among others.

Union Secretary for Asante Kotoko LEGENDS CLUB, Tony Oduro, mentioned that the aim of the Association is to see to the welfare of all past Asante Kotoko players and treat them as Royals thus reports such as Abukari's situation has been urgently attended to.

Speaking on Atinka FM's Total Sports show with Monday afternoon, Tony Oduro added that some Asante Kotoko ex-players who are based in Europe and USA have sent substantial amounts for the Union’s activities including reaching out to Abukari.

Meanwhile, some Kotoko fans in the diaspora have also made several donations to Abukari through friends and family after Atinka TV reported on the harrowing condition of the Kotoko ex striker.
