Jack Ma's promised 100,000 face masks, 20,000 testing kits land in Ghana

Ghana has received the first batch of coronavirus (COVID-19) test kits and preventive equipment from Chinese Billionaire, Jack Ma.
This follows a promise made by the Billionaire to supply a total of 1.1 million testing kits, six million masks and 60,000 protective suits and face shields to African countries after donating $14 million to fight the disease globally.
Under his gesture, each African country could get 100,000 face masks, 20,000 testing kits and 1,000 protective clothing to boost their right against the virus.
Earlier, the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced that the government has allocated $100 million to be used to enhance the country’s preparedness and response plans to the COVID-19.
He also stated recently during his third update on coronavirus to Ghanaians that the country has procured 50,000 additional test kits which is expected to come soon to augment the work of health professionals in the fight against coronavirus.
Meanwhile, in a Facebook post by NDC’s John Abdulai Jinapor, he expressed gratitude on behalf of the country to Jack Ma for his timely intervention.
