The Inspector-General of Police has backtracked over lockdown order issued to his officers hours ago.
In the said order , IGP asked officers to be ready for a lockdown operation in Accra, Tema, Kumasi and Obuasi to contain the Covid-19 pandemic .
However , a counter order from the police top hierarchy has been issued per an internal police communique.
The communique advised officers to ignore the first “lockdown order” ,adding “further directives on the contents will be issued in due course.”
