The campaign team for former President John Mahama has denied reports that Mahama has chosen his running mate for the 2020 presidential elections.
John Mahama is contesting with over 10 other persons for the flagbearership position of the NDC to lead the party into the 2020 elections.
Although the NDC internal election is yet to be held, there have been speculations within the media space, especially on social media, that John Mahama has named Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, daughter of former president and NDC founder, Jerry John Rawlings as his running mate to snatch power from the NPP government.
But the spokesperson for John Mahama, James Agyenim Boateng, in a statement copied to citinewsroom.com said the reports are false and has called on Ghanaians to disregard it.
He said Mahama is currently focused on his official duties and his campaign to be flagbearer of the NDC.
Former President John Dramani Mahama has become aware of speculations about his choice of running mate for the 2020 presidential elections.
We wish to state that the reports are false.
Mr. Mahama is presently focused on both his NDC flag bearer campaign and his official duties.
Therefore, Ghanaians should disregard all such conjectures.
