I made enemies in NDC after supporting Sir John in Supreme Court case – Aseidu Nketia 

 
The General Secretary for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Aseidu Nketia, has revealed that he made enemies in the NDC after he supported the late Forestry Commission CEO, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie  who was summoned before the Supreme Court of Ghana in July 2013, for making contemptuous comments against the Bench during the presidential election petition.
The late Forestry Commission CEO during his days as the General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) was summoned before the Supreme Court of Ghana on Monday, July 8, 2013, for making contemptuous comments against the Bench during the presidential election petition.
Sir John accused the nine-member Justices of the Supreme Court of bias for their actions in a criminal contempt case involving Sammy Awuku, an NPP activist.
“The conduct of the Supreme Court Judges in the infamous Sammy Awuku encounter is appalling and must be condemned,” he said in 2013.
Speaking on Atinka FM’s AM Drive with host Ekourba Gyasi, Johnson Aseidu Nketia, said this act of his won him enemies in both the NPP and NDC.
According to him, members of the NDC did not understand why he would support a member of an opposition party against the will of his Party.
“During the Supreme Court case defied  all odds to show solidarity to a brother and I stood by him throughout. To an extent that some of my party members were against the idea, in fact they were angry at the fact that I am supporting an opponent to win a case in court. Likewise some of his party members left him to his fate because he was being supported by an opponent. Some even asked him if he had defected to the NPP. A whole lot of issues came up. Till the day he was called to the witness box, I was with him”, he said.
