I had death threats initially but I have grown out of it–Wendy Shay

RuffTown Records Signee, Wendy Shay has said that despite the hatred exhibited towards her by some people in and out of the music industry, her music career has thrived and still growing.
According to her, people threatened to kill her when she joined the industry but she had people like her Manager and family who helped her grow, marking two years in the industry.
She made the statement while speaking on the Atinka Drive hosted by Raman Fada.
While speaking on Atinka Drive, Wendy Shay said that when she came to Ghana from Germany to do music, people threw a lot of hatred on her but she said that personally, she admired the strength God gave her to withstand the test of time.
According to her, all the hatred were emotionally and psychologically stressful but after two years in the industry, she has grown more spiritually, emotionally, psychologically and physically.
She also made it known that when her manager, Bullet consulted some people about her, they discouraged him from helping her but Bullet did not listen to such people adding that now they feel uncomfortable when they her music career grow.
“I have learnt a lot in this two years. It was an opportunity to build myself. It was a training ground for me to grow spiritually, psychologically and physically,” she said.
Although She has an album with 10 songs, this year, she has also released about 10 songs.
Talking about her new single, Emergency which features Ghanaian rapper, Bosom PYung, she said she did not pay him anything before he jumped on the song, adding that the chemistry between she and Bosom PYung, who has also had experience with broken heart made him love the song and came on it.
“I didn’t pay Bosom PYung for the collaboration. It is the chemistry between us that made him jump on it when i sent it to him,” she said.
She stated that Emergency is on YouTube, adding that it will be released on all digital platforms today, 5th June, 2020.
To those who crticise her for her kind of skimpy clothes she wears, she explained that she wears those only when she is on stage or going for a show, stating that she does not wear those clothes to church because he does not want to tempt any man of God.
“I will not wear what I use to perform to church; because its body hugging and I do not want to distract the pastor because he might look,” she said.
Meanwhile, she noted her love for Atinka TV’s flagship reality show for plus size women, Di Asa, stating that she is a real fan of all the Di Asa ladies.
