I can do 5 times better than Mahama –  Hon Ricketts Hagan.

Sitting Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South and wannabe President, Kweku Ricketts Hagan, has stated  that given the nod as the Flagbearer of the NDC and if subsequently voted for as President of Ghana, he can do five times better than former president John Mahama who once gave him an opportunity to serve in his government.

Ricketts Hagan has described himself as competent and has the ability and capacity to lead the opposition NDC to victory in the 2020 general elections far better than John Dramani Mahama’s performance in government.

Granting an interview on the sidelines during  the NDC Central  Regional Executive elections held over the weekend, “Kweku Beye” , as his Cape coast South Constituents and Party Supporters call him, said his former Boss, John Mahama has done his best for the NDC and Ghana for which Posterity will remember him for his unprecedented infrastructural projects.

Nevertheless he said governance is not all about building infrastructure as the NDC under Mahama failed to recognize the core needs of   Ghanaians hence their overwhelming rejection of his administration in the 2016 elections.

The former  Deputy  finance  Minister  and Later  Deputy Trade Minister  who was moved to head the Central Region as a Regional Minister in the later part of the Mahama administration  , joins thirteen others who have so far  declared their  intention to contest as a flagbearer of the NDC .

In a letter addressed to the General Secretary of the Party, he said he was ready to share his message based on the party's principles to enable it to have a realistic chance of reclaiming political power in 2020.

Explaining why believes he is the best candidate to lead the party into the 2020 polls, Ricketts-Hagan said, he thinks he represents the new vision and ideas the party needs going into the next presidential elections.

“We went into an election in 2016 which we lost. When you go into any battle, and you lose, you have to come back to the drawing board to strengthen yourself and forge ahead with new ideas and new vision and I that is what I believe I will be able to offer my dear NDC party going forward, that is the reason why I am putting my hat in this race.”

He said it was unfair for him or any individual to be blamed for the party's abysmal performing in the last parliamentary election especially in the Central Region, noting that he still the solution to some of the challenges that resulted in the poor results.
