Hope and Smile Initiative holds health talk for children at Chorkor

Hundreds of children gathered at Tea Garden at Chorkor for a health talk organized by the Hope and Smile Initiative last Saturday.

The project dubbed, “The Love Train”, entailed a health walk and a talk on hygiene by seasoned health personnel. The children were taught proper hand washing techniques, how to apply sanitizer, how to brush their teeth among others.

As the saying goes, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”, the children were given the opportunity to exhibit their dancing skills and engage in other fun activities like musical chairs and musical statues. Winners of the various activities and quizzes were awarded with toothbrushes, toothpastes, sanitizers and mouthwashes.

Sponsors of The Love Train were Ghana Health Service, Pacific Business Ventures, Family Life International School and Hope and Smile Diaspora.

Hope and Smile Initiative is a vibrant non-governmental organization ably headed by Mr. Leslie Aryeetey. The organization was founded in 2017 and has undertaken various projects including  “A Reason To Smile Project” and “The Perfect Embrace Project” which took place at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital’s Children’s Ward and Future Stars Orphanage International respectively.
