GJA eulogizes Atinka Media Village News Editor

The Ghana Journalist Association (GJA), has extended its condolence to the entire management and staff of Atinka Media Village.

Veteran journalist and Head of News of Atinka Media Village, Francis Sasu, affectionately called FS, passed on Wednesday, 21st November 2018.

Mr. Sasu, whose journalism career spanned over four decades, died at his residence at Amasaman on Wednesday afternoon hours after visiting the hospital for a checkup.

A family delegation led by the late Sasu ’s junior brother, Edmund Sasu, on Wednesday evening officially informed management and staff of Atinka Media Village about the demise of their beloved son.

Speaking to the management and staff of Atinka Media Village, GJA President, Roland Affail Monney stated that the GJA is utterly shocked and saddened by the death of Francis Sasu, affectionately called F.S.

Mr. Affail Monney described F.S, who was his colleague at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporations (GBC), as a man who has served the Ghanaian media for about four decades. He noted that F.S has among others groomed many of the new generation journalists in the country.

According to him, Mr Sasu was very dedicated, committed, diligent to his duty apart from being respectful to persons, irrespective of their age, rank race or any other inclination.

“It is for these reasons that the GJA finds the death family especially the wife and children of our fallen brother, and Management and staff of Atinka Media Village”, he said.

He noted that F.S was that colleague who was always ready to offer help whenever he was called on. According to him, Ghana has lost a legend.

Vice President for GJA, Mrs. Linda Asante Adjei also described Mr. Sasu as a leader and a staunch member of the GJA who also served on the GJA awards committee board for years.

“F.S was a brother and an extraordinary team player, we are all saddened by his demise and we seek solace in the lord especially in this trying times. We will support in whatever way that we can to until our brother is laid to rest peace”, she added.

Atinka Media Village has opened a book of condolence at the premises of the company at Avenor Junction in honour of departed Head of News and Current Affairs, Mr. Francis Sasu.

Mr. Francis Sasu, until his demise, served as the Head of News and Current Affairs at Atinka Media Village. He also served as a faculty member on Atinka FM’s Kronkron big band reality show board.

Mr. Francis Sasu, a veteran journalist, has worked with the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), Ghana Broadcasting Corporations (GBC), Accra based ZTV before spending his last years on earth with Atinka Media Village.
